the visual pun in Revelation 19:16:
"And on His robe and on His thigh the SHEM written,
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."

He wanted us to get a clearer glimpse of Who He is, so He gave us this word picture of His glorious return. In the vision, this important reality is pictured as a name or a royal title.

The first, most basic, spiritual truth, the first, simple, fact we try to get across to the spiritually underprivileged of the world, the beginning lesson we want to communicate to our children in Spirituality 101, is emblazoned across the front of His sweatshirt for all the universe to see:

"HE'S KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS"

But the deepest, most hidden, inner reality about who He is, the truth about Him that the smartest theologian and the wisest mystic keep reaching for, but can never quite grasp...the revelation that nobody will ever see except for His bride, and then only in their most intimate experiences together, after she's at home with Him forever...the insight that in retrospect will give meaning to her most horrible moment of panic, will heal every memory of her day of most excruciating agony, will more than make up for her longest years of helplessness and need...the profound mystery that could transform our lives today, if only we could get a little firmer hold on it, or if it could have a little deeper anchoring in us...I'll whisper the secret shem to you, even though neither of us are yet able to plumb the depths of it very well......shhhhhh.........
